Carla A. Pinto is an Associate Attorney at Meirowitz & Wasserberg, LLP and a member of the firm’s personal injury lawyer team. With experience in multiple areas of law, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, construction accidents, bicycle accidents, wrongful deaths, estates, guardianships, and other types of serious injury cases.

Prior to joining Meirowitz & Wasserberg, LLP, Carla worked as an Associate for a prominent personal injury law firm located in Nassau County where she primarily focused on estates, death compromises, and guardianships. To Carla, her clients are more than just her work. Working with individuals who are experiencing some of the most challenging times in their lives, Carla understands the importance of empathy and compassion when handling sensitive legal issues. Her goal is to help her clients find a sense of resolution and closure, regardless of the hardships they have endured.

Outside of the firm, Carla is highly involved with several organizations in the legal industry. Carla is most proud of her participation with the Queens County Women’s Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association Women in The Law Committee. She has been an active member of both organizations since attending law school and contributes part of her professional growth to the priceless friendships she has formed with those inspirational women over the years.

As a child of Portuguese immigrants, Carla’s heritage has had a significant impact on shaping the personal values and morals that drove her to a career in law. Carla serves as the first Secretary of the New York Portuguese American Leadership Conference. In addition, Carla was a co-director of religious education at St. Pius V R.C.C in Jamaica, Queens for approximately 15 years. Her pride in her culture can be seen in her tireless involvement with the community. Carla’s desire to give back to others is another extraordinary trait passed down from her parents, and a passion she displays in all areas of her life.

Carla received her Juris Doctor from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where she attended at night while working as a full-time Paralegal. Prior to entering law school, Carla received a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from St. John’s University. Carla is admitted to practice law in New York State.

Carla is fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish.
